Work package description

WP3 focuses on standardising and improving institutional publishing practices. Its primary objectives include developing the European Quality Standard for Institutional Publishing (EQSIP) and a self-assessment tool to be used and adopted by Institutional Publishing Service Providers (IPSPs). This work aims to enhance the quality and transparency of publishing across different countries, communities, and organizational levels. Each deliverable contributes to the overall objective of standardising and improving institutional publishing practices by setting quality standards and identifying areas for improvement.

D3.1 IPSP Best Practices

Deadline: November 2023

This deliverable involves identifying existing quality evaluation criteria and best practices for IPSPs and analysing them to inform the development of EQSIP. D3.2 Extensible Quality Standard in Institutional Publishing (EQSIP) v2.0

Deadline: February 2024

This deliverable involves the development of EQSIP 2.0 based on the findings from the gap analysis conducted in Task 3.4. It aims to refine and diversify quality indicators and standards according to the type of IPSP and criteria of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB). Additionally, it includes the creation of a self-assessment tool for IPSPs to verify their compliance with EQSIP 2.0 and sustainability workflows. D3.3 Report on the Gap Analysis Results

Deadline: October 2023

This deliverable involves conducting a gap analysis of the IPSP landscape to benchmark EQSIP 1.0’s accuracy and usefulness. It identifies strengths and weaknesses in co-creation and collaboration with a sample of IPSPs. This supports the objective of assessing quality gaps in institutional publishing. D3.4 Self-assessment Tool for IPSPs

Deadline: February 2024

This deliverable includes the development of a self-assessment tool for IPSPs based on EQSIP 2.0. It allows IPSPs to evaluate their compliance with EQSIP standards and sustainability workflows, aiming to improve publishing quality. D3.5 Extensible Quality Standard in Institutional Publishing (EQSIP) v1.0

Deadline: April 2023
