Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), part of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain, promotes science-society interaction, knowledge transfer, and Spanish science internationalisation. It aims to foster a society rooted in scientific knowledge through open science. FECYT focuses on strategic objectives like enhancing scientific communication, supporting open scientific ecosystems, and providing scientific advice for informed decision-making.

In the DIAMAS project, FECYT coordinates WP3 which focuses on setting standards and assessing quality gaps in institutional publishing practices. FECYT leads the effort to develop the European Quality Standard for Institutional Publishing (EQSIP) and oversees the creation of a self-assessment tool for Institutional Publishing Service Providers (IPSPs). FECYT is responsible of defining and describing EQSIP V2, a central document guiding the standardisation and improvement of institutional publishing practices across different countries.
